Karl Arnold started producing tin toys with a built-in flint in Nuremburg in 1906. Apart from a standstill during World War I, the company continued to produce such toys until the late 1950s. By that time, the range of toys included vehicles, boats, submarines, steam accessories, and novelty toys.
