Made of brass and steel mounted on a wood base. Drawn brass boiler, 6” x 3” with whistle and safety valve. Massive brass flywheel weighing 1lb. Two-speed gear. Lower gear takes Meccano pulleys. Guaranteed speed of 2,000 r.p.m., runs for 1 ½ hrs.

Lower gear takes Meccano pulleys, etc. Drip feed lubricators, giving constant supply of oil, and exhaust through the chimney. Attains a speed of 2,000 r.p.m., runs for 30 mins.

Brass and steel throughout. Brass boiler, 5 ¾” x 1 ¾” with safety valve. Two-speed gear and two driving pulleys. The low gear spindle will take Meccano pulleys, sprocket wheels etc. Drip feed lubricator and steam exhausts through the chimney. Runs for 30 to 40 mins and ‘revs’ at 2,000 r.p.m

Geared countershaft will take Meccano pulleys, sprocket wheels etc. Brass boiler 4 ½” x 2” with safety valve and overflow tap. Drilled metal base. Runs for 30 mins on a filling.

Brass and steel throughout. Brass cylinder and piston, stroke ¾”. Two-speed gear. Brass flywheel 1 ½” x 7/16”. Two-speed gear and two driving pulleys. The low gear spindle will take Meccano pulleys, sprocket wheels etc. Brass boiler 4” x 1 ¾” with safety valve and overflow tap. Drilled metal base. Runs for 25 mins.

Patent wood hull, length 20”, beam 3 ½”. Bowman engine, ¾”stroke x ½” bore. Polished brass boiler, 4 ½” x 1 ½”, with safety valve and overflow tap. Steams for 20 mins on one filling.

Bowman Models in Luton are often confused with the original company of the same name which was based in Dereham. Bowman Luton company started long after the Dereham company closed down. The founder purchased the rights to the name and trade marks and they are the only items which connect the two companies.

Fitted with a brass boiler, brass cylinder and piston, heavy brass flywheel, silver steel crankshaft, aluminium firebox, brass fuel tank and wick tube and a heavy steel base plate drilled to suit Meccano.

The same as the PW201 except that the engine is mounted on the boiler.
